Jizerská is one of the most famous long-distance cross-country ski marathons in Central Europe and held in the Jizera Mountains region of the Czech Republic.

Beyond the flagship 50 km race, Jizerská 50 is a multi-day ski festival, offering a wide range of distances and events for all levels—from short recreational races and skating events to children’s races, team relays, and sprint competitions.

Snow condition: Mix of old icing snow with new snow (from Monday ca from 5 to 0cm). In the upper parts are more new snow. Temp: -2..-6˚C

Basic ski preparation for all race days

1. Clean the ski base with a glide cleaner, e.g. REX 514 SISU Glide Cleaner.
2. After the cleaner has dried, brush the base with a nylon brush.
3. Apply REX 4726 NF SISU Hard Black liquid wax to the base.
4. After the liquid wax has dried, brush the base with a nylon brush.
5. Hot-wax REX 428 Glider Light Blue Special, let the base cool down, scrape off excess wax and brush the base first with a fine steel or bronze brush, then with a nylon brush.
6. Hot-wax REX 4714 NF SISU White Racing Base Glider, let the base cool down, scrape off excess wax and brush the base first with a fine steel or bronze brush, then with a nylon brush.

For hobby races, apply steps 1, 2 and 5 only.

Variant 1 – Racing

1. Hot-wax REX NF21 and then brush.
2. Hot-wax REX NFX21 and then brush.
3. For further glide improvement, apply REX 4736 NFX Blue Extra Tuned in 2–3 layers.

Variant 2 – hobby

1. Hot-wax REX NF21 or apply the liquid version of NF21, then brush.

Kick wax

Classic – recommended kick wax mix

1. Roughen the base in the kick zone using sandpaper.
2. Apply a thin base layer: Rex Base Instant Klister.
3. Mix 1:1: very thin layers of REX 205 Purple Klister + REX 216 Gold Klister.
4. Thoroughly cover the klister with a thin layer of hard kick wax REX 30GB or REX 120 BASIC Blue Special.

Note: In higher parts of the course there is more fresh snow – in this case, it may be suitable to lightly “seal” the klister with 30GB / 120 BASIC.
