Rex Pro Wax Heater is a purpose-built hot wax heater for bicycle chains — not a repurposed slow cooker, rice cooker or small wax heater originally designed for hair-removal wax. It is built around the way chains are actually waxed: melting a full pack of wax, handling multiple chains, lifting them cleanly and making the whole process repeatable.

The spacious wax pot holds a full 480 g pack of Rex Black Diamond Hot Wax and has room for several chains. The included hanging rack, waxing wires and chain-handling tools make the whole process controlled from melting to lifting and cooling.

The large wax capacity also makes it practical for riders who rotate several chains. Wax one chain, two chains or prepare multiple chains for a long block of riding. Less mess, less improvisation, more control.

BOOST Mode for Faster Wax Melting

Melting Hot Wax should not be like cooking rice

Hot waxing should not feel like waiting for a slow cooker. With BOOST mode, Rex Pro Wax Heater melts a full 480 g pack of Rex Black Diamond Hot Wax in approximately 30 minutes.

When BOOST mode reaches 125 °C, the heater gives three audible signals and then automatically cools down to 75 °C, where it remains for waxing. This gives you a simple, repeatable process: melt fast, wax at a controlled temperature, lift the chain and let the excess wax drip back into the pot.

Turn the most difficult step of hot waxing into a simple ritual

For many riders, the biggest barrier to hot waxing is not the waxing itself — it is the first deep clean. Removing factory grease from a brand-new chain is slow, messy and easy to get wrong.

Rex Pro Wax Heater and Rex Transformer Block are designed to solve that problem together. When used according to Rex instructions, the Transformer Block allows you to wax a factory-new chain without the traditional solvent degreasing process.

Add Rex Black Diamond Hot Wax, one Transformer Block and one factory-new chain. Press BOOST. The heater runs the high-temperature melt phase required for the Transformer Block process, then cools down to the normal waxing temperature.

This turns the most difficult step of hot waxing into a simple, repeatable process — and makes it much easier to start waxing chains properly from day one.

Efficient Chain Handling

The heater includes two waxing wires and hanging handles for practical chain handling. The chain can be placed in the pot while the wax melts, so it heats together with the wax. Once the wax is fully molten, the chain can be stirred by rotating the wire handle in both directions, helping the wax reach the rollers and inner surfaces.

After waxing, lift the chain onto the hanging rack. Excess wax drips directly back into the pot, keeping the process cleaner and more efficient.

Clever Rex Details

Small details matter in a good workshop tool. The wire handles can be connected to form chain pliers for opening and closing quick links. The handle also works as a bottle opener — a small Rex detail that makes the product feel less sterile and more human.

Easy Wax Reuse and Removal

After waxing, the wax can be left in the heater and melted again for the next use. When it is time to replace the wax, Rex Pro Wax Heater has a dedicated wax removal procedure: once the wax has cooled completely, the device can be turned upside down and gently warmed so the wax releases from the pot as one solid piece.

This makes wax changes cleaner and more practical than scraping old wax out of a generic container.
